Weddings ahead
Not many weddings the past two summers, so I haven't updated my formalwear in a little over two years, when I bought that navy slip dress from Express for Sam and Hilary's wedding. At this point, I am basically down to two dresses: that slip dress, and my default "wedding guest" dress (the "Nikita" Reformation dress in a navy floral). When I bought the Ref dress, I vowed that I would make it *the* dress, and I really haven't needed alternatives. It's versatile for outdoors and city, packs and cleans easily, and I feel good in it. It's served me for four weddings in four years (Rebecca/Spencer, Milo/Rose, Alicia/Jenzo, and Amelia/Zach). The cost per wear is still a bit high, but not terrible.
Now I have a few more weddings on the horizon (Noah/Emily, Will/Josie, Jason/Lauren eventually, maybe Maddie/Bryan), and the Reformation dress will probably work for at least one of them. But I have also been wanting something a little more...grown-up? Less basic. Sophisticated. Something floor skimming with heels. Maybe something black? Maybe something that is equally figure-skimming, but less revealing up top.
Accessories-wise, I'm also hankering for an update. My mall-brand (are they Michael Kors?) black high-heel block sandals have been versatile and sufficient, if not a little uncomfortable by the end of the night. The Eliza and Brinker pearl earrings I splurged on in 2018/2019 have been wonderful, but the gold hoop attachments on them are feeling a little dated.
How should I update? The La Ligne navy dress I've had my eye on is now 50% off and about $115 on TRR, but it's final sale. I love the boning and the ribbon details, but it's still a bit of a ballgown, flared silhouette with thin straps and I'm in a "column gown" mood these days. Also, I want statement shoes. And new pearl earrings from Agmes, and a little clutch bag from Attersee or Porto...
I think I can splurge on new accessories or a new dress, but not both. My instinct says to prioritize accessories and get a nice but reasonably priced black or navy dress from TRR or COS.

Instagram is easily one of the places where I find most fashion inspiration. More than anything else, Instagram inspires me by introducing me to new brands and new ways of styling pieces I already have in my closet. Not only is it an instant way to see what fashion insiders are wearing across the globe, but it also provides access inside the wardrobes of celebs. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is one celeb whose style I personally identify with, so I’m constantly looking to the outfits she posts on Instagram. While she has a closet brimming with covetable pieces from Bottega Veneta , she also mixes in affordable pieces from Zara like the bodysuit that went viral last year . On top of that, many of her looks are built around wardrobe staples, so her Instagram is a goldmine for cool styling tips to make basics like a blazer feel fresh . Here, I’m test-driving four of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s genius blazer outfits. Go on to see my take on her chic looks. A year ago, I may have worn an oversize blazer with heels, but by adding a pair of knee-high boots it instantly feels like a fresher way to style it. They add a sense of sleekness to the pieces layered underneath, which is something I immediately picked up on from Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's outfit here. Like RHW, I mixed shades of brown and black but opted for a turtleneck in place of a T-shirt. This look has proven to be one of my most-worn office outfit formulas that I rely on again and again when I can't figure out what to wear. I promise, an oversize blazer is a must so add one to your shopping cart if you haven't already. This is one of the exact basics I wear most. Perfect for layering underneath knee-high boots. Yep, knee-high boots are an essential. Here's the bag I use practically every single day (snapped in the photo above). Yes, pantsuits can easily transition to the evening with a few easy styling tweaks. I love how RHW added a bra top underneath hers here. Lingerie-inspired pieces and bra tops will be one of the biggest trends for spring 2020, and this is a very wearable way to try it out. I took inspiration from RHW's look, adding a bandeau top underneath one of my favorite pantsuits. While I would normally wear this to the office with a T-shirt, switching it out for a bra top makes it read as nighttime-ready. The pantsuit I'm wearing is sold out but I have my eye on this one from up-and-coming brand REMAIN Birger Christensen. Here, shop the matching pants. Since I picked mine up, I discovered just how versatile a bandeau top is. I love the wide fit of these. Next time, I'm adding in some cool chunky jewelry. If you're looking for an alternative to the pantsuit, trying a matching skirt suit set. This exact version is still available to shop ahead. Act quickly to order the Tibi set RHW wore that's on sale now. Here's the matching skirt. Layer a bodysuit underneath. Porte & Paire is a cool new shoe brand on my radar that would be perfect to pair with this look. I always look to Brinker & Eliza for great affordable jewelry finds. If you're looking for a way to make an all-black outfit feel a little cooler, simply add a tan blazer like RHW. Proving that one blazer can work in different ways, I wore the jacket from my skirt suit set for the look here—this time, layered over a simple all-black look. Frankie Shop is one of my go-to brands for excellent suiting. Scoop neck tops are the silhouette to invest in right now. RHW wore split hem pants in her looks, so I'll be trying these out next time. These LPA heels just dropped and are so good. I have similar rings that I stack on the regular but have my eye on this stunning piece. Next, shop my spring shopping picks from Nordstrom, Shopbop, and Net-a-Porter .

NCT Dream We Go Up shirt
Posting videos of herself NCT Dream We Go Up shirt . on social media, Lizzo is seen arriving and checking into the Virgin. Atlantic Upper Class area in full-on bougie fashion, her pink plumage drawing some double-takes as she heads to her flight. (She also carried a teddy-monkey that said, “Privacy please,” though it was hard not to look her way with that fabulous getup.) It may seem an outrageous idea to wear a runway design on a flightNCT Dream We Go Up shirt, hoodie, sweater, longsleeve and ladies t-shirt

Classic Men's But one could see how her frothy outerwear could even double as a blanket on the plane, where air is known to be on full blast NCT Dream We Go Up shirt . Alas, once she is seen actually getting on the aircraft, Lizzo de-coated and revealed a more casual outfit underneath: some camo pants and a crop-top sweater. After all, a tarmac isn’t really a runway.Memorial Day is often considered the unofficial start of summer, and for good reason! The three-day weekend is a harbinger of warm days, long nights, and good times to come—and, of course, a new wardrobe to wear for it all. Whether you’re planning a BBQ in the city or decamping to Fire Island or Phoenicia, “MDW” is usually your first opportunity to rip the tags off a breezy sundress or barely there sandals. But if you’ve yet to turn your attention to your summer look, don’t stress; you’ve still got 20 days to plan, and we have a few ideas for what you should pick up first. To start, consider an especially on-trend tie-dyed bag like Prada’s mesh bucket; if you’re lucky enough to find yourself on the beach or by the pool, it’s just large enough to fit a bottle of sunscreen and a terrycloth hat. A strapless swimsuit like Solid & Striped’s tangerine maillot could work double-duty as a bodysuit under denim cut-offs, or simply throw a prairie dress on top for a little built-in SPF. As for new jewelry, don’t miss out on the seashell trend; Brinker & Eliza’s rosy pink necklace is an elevated, grown-up take.
